Virtual meeting on Zoom

Present: Molly Wood, Becky McClure, Gene Wee, Dee Boeck, John Hutchinson, Janet Hutchinson, Lori Cackler, Don Cackler, Matt O’Reilly, Brenda Groskinsky, Kara Baden

The November minutes were reviewed and unanimously approved.

Gene started the meeting with a treasury update. We made $234.46 from our race in November. The club spent $366.97 in December for our annual RRCA dues. In general for 2020, the club spent more money than we accumulated thanks to COVID-19. We still have a healthy amount of money.  Current balance of the club is $19,058.51.

Dee gave us a Thanksgiving Day Run update. Dee has contacted Woodlawn Elementary to do the Thanksgiving Day Run. Dee has submitted the paperwork with the school district. She has also contacted VanGo Inc. to make the awards. Gene has been in contact with the Lawrence Parks and Rec and was told to submit the application for the race. It will all come down to what the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department gathering restrictions are at the time. We won’t know how COVID-19 will affect the race. Dee will be looking for sponsors for the race. Biggest expense for the race is swag.

Gene is looking to do another fast 2 mile race in the spring for the club at the Arboretum. It gives runners another safe opportunity to set Kansas State Records and Honor Roll. Date to be determined. [date later set for April 11]

The last item of the meeting was nominations for officers for the new year. Thank you to our outgoing officers, Brenda and Becky, for all your work. We nominated the following and voted to approve:

Dee Boeck for Thanksgiving Day Run Director
Jackie Wilson for Secretary
Gene Wee for Treasurer
Matt O’Reilly as Vice President
Kara Baden as President
