Congratulations to Anna Faehndrich (of Vancouver, BC) on completing the Aug 15th Squamish 50 Mile in a time of 13:02:13. She is the daughter of Paul and Bobbi Riley of Lawrence KS.

Dear runLawrence Club Members,

Thank you very much for the wonderful recognition you gave us at the annual club picnic last week. We greatly appreciate the cards filled with touching comments and memories, as well as the keepsake booklet. It was fun reliving the high points experienced over 20+ years of organizing the Thanksgiving Day 5K – and also a (very) few low points, which we hope will serve as guidance for the new leaders!

The fact that this run has gone on for so long and continues to grow is evidence that we are giving participants what they want. This is one of the very few races which are not commercially owned and operated, which should be a point of pride to every one of you who has contributed your time and expertise over the years. We are very pleased that the new directors share our desires to keep as many local businesses and organizations involved as possible, not to mention allocating all profits to the local youth running community.

Here’s to another 20 years of the runLawrence Thanksgiving Day 5K!

Christian Beer, manager of the Trek Store, will host a Hydration Clinic at the store on Fri, Aug 7, 7 pm. It's meant for cyclists, but runners can benefit from the lecture. 2525 Iowa St; free, no registration required.
