The rain didn't come and the Kansas Relays Community 5K had a beautiful morning for the event. Overall winners were Tegan Michael (Hoyt) and Ashley Turpin (Meriden). 122 finishers. Check out the photos. Results

Correction! Dee Boeck actually won the F75 age category at the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile in Washington DC. The person with the faster time than Dee was actually age 52. And Molly Wood finished 10th, not 11th in the F70 group.

Damon Mar ran the Double Chubb 50K (St Louis) in 7:11:57 good for 15th place.

Lawrence runners took one-two-(three) at the Flint Hills Gravel 21K at Americus yesterday. Jennifer Kongs and Matt O'Reilly were 1-2. Emma Hauser, formerly of Lawrence now of Madison WI was 3rd.
Recognizable names finishing at Rock the Parkway were (in the half marathon) James Martinez (1st M20), Brian Daldorph (3rd M65), and club members Kristina Selters and Ellen Young, and (in the 5K) Stacy Riggins.

Photos from the Ad Astra Irish Mile today. Two state records were set. Stephanie Brokaw (Manhattan) set the new best state time for a Kansas female with a time of 4:59. Dee Boeck (Lawrence) set a new F75-79 record with a 8:06.

Race director need to be prepaped for any emergencies; a tornado is another level of concern. Jake Anderson, director of the Three Days of
Syllamo (Blanchard Springs, Ark.) survived the tornado hit on his cabin by hiding in the bath tub. A miracle only one injury among all the participants camped there. The races were canceled after the tornado. Damon Mar, club member, was at the run.

Liberal, Kansas and Olney, UK host their International Pancake Day races every Shrove Tuesday. This year's winner was Liberal's Pamela Bolivar in 1:03 over the 415 yard course.
