Next year she moves to a new age group (this year there were seven in her 80-84 women’s group and only one woman in the 85-89 group but three in the men 90 and above!).(from Dan Breslauer)

From the Kansas Road Race Records web page:
Our 2024 selections for Kansas runner-of-the-year are two age-group record-setters, one of them new to the Kansas running scene.
Don Turner, of Shawnee, set four age-group records in his first year in the 75-79 age group. His 5K best of 21:13 scored above 88% on the World Masters Athletics age-graded scoring tables. Turner has been a competitive age-group runner since 2001, qualifying for the state honor roll in six age groups over the years.
Carolyn Kensett, of Chanute, set five age-group records in the 70-74 age group in only her second year of Kansas age-group competition. Her two-mile record of 15:20, 5K time of 24:12, and 10K time of 49:27 all scored above 87% on the WMA tables.
More details on others with significant accomplishments.
