Club Meeting Minutes
Sun, August 30, 2020

(Approved Oct 4, 2020)

4:00 p.m. at South Park

Present:  Brenda Groskinsky, Molly Wood, Becky McClure, Lori Cackler, Don Cackler, John Huchingson, Janet Huchingson, Steve Riley, Matt O’Reilly, Gene Wee, Dee Boeck

The July meeting minutes were reviewed.  Dee moved they be approved, Molly seconded and they were unanimously accepted.

The treasurer's report was given by Gene and Matt.  Various expenses and incomes were noted and the balance in the treasury is $18,278.39.

Gene made a presentation on the upcoming Honor Roll 8K.  This will be a time trial type event on the levee at 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 11.  Needed permits have been obtained from the City and the course has been measured and is in the process of certification. Gene presented a list of all the volunteer positions available and asked that people volunteer.  Bicycle riders, packet pick-up workers, course assistance workers, start and finish line helpers are some of the volunteer opportunities.  There are 37 of 45 slots still open for competitors.  Dee displayed the runLawrence masks that she, Becky and Molly have been working on for participants and workers.  They are very nice looking.

As the second recipient of this year's club volunteer of the year was not in attendance, Dick Lipsey's prize will be mailed to him.  Dick spends countless hours in keeping the Kansas State Road Running Records complete and up to date.  He was also the inspiration for the club hosting two time-trial events this fall.  He determined that such events could be safely held while complying with pandemic restrictions.  Congratulations and Thank You, Dick!

Brenda indicated she would be researching the cyber security insurance available through RRCA and report back at a future meeting.

It was noted that club members seem to enjoy having our meetings outdoors and South Park has proved a very accommodating location.  We may continue such meetings even when COVID19 restrictions are lifted.

Motion was made by and seconded by to adjourn.  No objections.
